The Bunbury Trotting Club Committee has been exploring options into completing a full reno of the Bunbury track with potentially a new surface and design.

Our goal is to provide the best surface possible for racing and have a sustainable, consistent surface for training.

A Sub-Committee was formed with Committee members, Club Management, local trainers and drivers to look into both short- and long-term plans for our track, this committee continues to consult with RWWA, Track designers and curators to develop a plan for the future.

We are pleased to announce that we are going ahead with a new surface on the track and are investing into a full track reno due to start Saturday May 7.

Included in this is removing approx. 1000 ton of old material, grading and rolling then spreading a mixture of material to get the desired blend advised to us.

BTC has engaged Brad Stampalia to undertake and run the project, Brad does the resurfacing to both Gloucester Park and Pinjarra.  This project is expected to take approximately one week with the current surface to be removed and replaced.

We understand this may disrupt training plans and we will do our best to have the project completed within the first week, weather permitting.

The top Jog Track will remain open as per usual and will continue to be worked on by the Track Team. We understand that with the main track being closed, there will be increased usage of the Jog Track, specifically for fast work.

The Track Team will increase the work on the jog track to ensure the consistency of the surface. We will post a schedule next week with specific times the track will be worked on

We are keeping the material from the existing surface and will be utilising it in other areas of the site, if you are interested in some of material for personal use, please contact Jonathan on 0415 304 836 and discuss what you need.

We thank you in advance for your patience in working with us while we resurface the track.
